Christopher Siuta
Christopher Siuta, PhD, LMHC, LPC, CPCL is a Clinical Therapist at Beyond Expectation Psychological Services, licensed in Nevada, Arizona, and New York. He holds a Master’s degree in Counseling from St. Bonaventure University (1997) and a PhD in Counseling Studies from Capella University (2007), with a dissertation focused on solution-focused approaches with high school student-athletes. With over 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Siuta brings a dynamic blend of mental health counseling and sport psychology to his work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and athletes at all levels of performance.
Dr. Siuta’s clinical specialties include anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, suicidal ideation, and personality disorders. He has extensive experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ clients, veterans, individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities, and clients on the autism spectrum. His therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT-informed care, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed interventions.
As a sport psychology specialist, Dr. Siuta has worked with elite athletes at the professional, collegiate, Olympic, and high school levels. His clinical sport psychology experience includes work with the Buffalo Bills (NFL), Buffalo Sabres (NHL), and Buffalo Bandits (NLL), guiding athletes and teams in areas of performance, focus, stress management, injury recovery, and mental resilience. He continues to offer specialized mental training and support for athletes pursuing excellence on and off the field.
Dr. Siuta is trained in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and has provided care for clients with military-related PTSD and military sexual trauma. Though not a veteran himself, he is familiar with military culture and terminology, and he regularly supports individuals navigating combat-related trauma and transitional stress.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Siuta has taught graduate-level coursework in Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling at St. Bonaventure University. He also supervises clinicians in training and provides practicum and internship oversight for Master’s-level students. His scholarly contributions include co-authoring chapters on behavior theory and ASCA delivery systems in texts published by Sage Publications. His leadership extends into the community as well, where he provides pro bono services to organizations such as the Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the PUNT Foundation, supporting patients and families impacted by cancer.
Dr. Siuta is currently pursuing certification as a Clinical Supervisor in Nevada and remains actively involved in advancing professional standards and training in the field. He treats clients across the lifespan, including young children, and provides support for a wide range of mental health and performance-related challenges.
Outside of clinical work, Dr. Siuta enjoys spending time with his two children (ages 23 and 18), following professional sports, and exploring opportunities to blend counseling with positive psychology and performance science.
