Lorena Kendricks-Baker is a highly educated mental health professional and marriage and family therapy intern with extensive experience working with youth, families, and individuals navigating emotional, behavioral, and educational challenges. She blends her expertise in counseling, special education, and substance use treatment to provide well-rounded, compassionate care to her clients.

Before joining Beyond Expectation Psychological Services, Lorena served as a Therapist, where she provided individual, couples, and family therapy to clients managing depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, and life transitions. She also worked as a Clinician at Solutions Recovery, Inc., delivering substance use counseling, treatment planning, and relapse prevention support for individuals seeking recovery.

Lorena’s extensive background in education includes over two decades with the Clark County School District as a Special Education Teacher for grades 9–12, where she supported students with learning differences, behavioral needs, and emotional challenges. Her earlier career included teaching in California, working as a Youth Counselor at Van Horn Youth Center, and serving as a Campus Supervisor in the Riverside Unified School District, where she focused on fostering safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments for adolescents.

She holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Master’s in Marriage & Family Counseling, a Master’s in Education with an Urban Studies/TESOL Endorsement, a Master’s in School Administration, and a Master’s in Special Education, as well as a Bachelor’s in Psychology. This diverse academic and professional background allows her to approach therapy with a deep understanding of both the educational and emotional factors that shape her clients’ lives.
